It’s been a minute since I started blogging!
I’m still surprised at myself when I think of how randomly and abruptly I took that leap of faith and started this food blog many moons ago… and I’m so glad I did! I wasn’t really into cooking, photography, or writing at the time. Growing up, I barely stepped into the kitchen and considered helping my mom a chore, especially during grad school and after getting married. But over time, I embraced it and slowly, I fell in love with it.

As a novice home cook searching for recipes online, I stumbled upon countless blogs, spending hours immersed in their stories and drooling over the photography. One fine day in August 2008, I decided to start blogging about my own home cooking adventures. Just a couple of days later, I launched my blog, right on India’s Independence Day.
Even though the early years brought few site visits or followers, the blog encouraged me to keep going. To improve my skills in recipe development, food styling, and photography, I underwent formal training at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City.

Since then, I’ve applied those techniques to create new recipes, reinvent Indian classics, and adapt beloved family recipes, always sharing them here alongside mouthwatering photos and videos. Every recipe I create, whether it’s a traditional dish updated for modern kitchens or a global flavor I reinterpret with Indian techniques, reflects both my roots and my present-day palate. It’s not just cooking, it’s a practice of ownership, creativity, and intentional adaptation.
My blog has opened many doors of opportunities for me over the years. Over a decade ago, upon moving to the Bay Area, my blog inspired me to start cooking classes. Now, I take pride in making Indian home cooking accessible to the wonderful people in the San Francisco Bay Area. As cooking classes picked up over the years, blogging slowed down significantly and I went on a hiatus for almost 5 years until I was able to get back to it in 2020, thanks to the pandemic! It was during that crazy time in the world when I got several opportunities to collaborate with leading brands in the food industry, globally and then came an opportunity of a lifetime – the publication of my debut cookbook!

In the beginning of 2023, I started conceptualizing on starting up a food products business and was thrilled to launch d’lish Foods Inc. featuring a few of my very special sweet and savory signature concoctions that are sure to tickle your tastebuds! You can order the products online or grab some of them at various pop-ups all over the Bay Area!

As always, thank you for your continued support. I hope my food products will receive the same love that my cookbook, my cooking classes and my blog have received from you all over the years!
Looking back, it’s clear that my journey has always been about more than recipes. It’s about blending heritage and modern life, reclaiming flavor, and creating food that tells a story. That philosophy guides everything I share – on the blog, in my cookbook, in my classes, and now through my products.e every day.

Blogging has brought me immense joy and fulfillment, and I hope I’ve provided some value to all of you as well! Thank you SO much for your love, support, encouragement and engagement over the years. If you’ve tried any of my recipes or used them as inspirations to come up with some of your own, please do let me know how they turned out. I’d love to hear about your signature concoctions!
