Every time I visit Pune to stay with my parents, there’s one place I always find myself returning to: Le Plaisir café on Prabhat Road. It’s a stone’s throw from my childhood home, and over the years, it’s become my go-to spot, whether I’m grabbing a quick bite in the morning or indulging in late-night desserts with friends.

This past trip in August 2024, I spent three weeks in Pune, and I have to say, I practically lived at Le Plaisir! I went there every other day, and it still never felt like enough. There’s just something about the cozy, European-style vibe of the place that makes me feel at home.

Afternoon Snacks with My Daughter
One of my favorite moments from this trip was taking my daughter to Le Plaisir for an afternoon snack. She ordered their Honey Butter Almond Crepe, and let me tell you, it was love at first bite! Watching her enjoy it made the visit extra special and added another layer to my already-deep connection with this café.

Post-Gym Breakfast Routine
Le Plaisir also became my post-gym breakfast stop. After a session with my personal trainer, I’d treat myself to their Iced Coffee and Masala Scrambled Eggs with Bajra Rye Toast. That combination hit the spot every single time—refreshing, savory, and filling without being too heavy.

I also tried their Roasted Mushroom and Cheddar Omelette once, but the scrambled eggs? Easily my favorite.

Lunchtime Favorites
During the lunch hour, I had the chance to meet up with a few friends, and naturally, we found ourselves at Le Plaisir. Their Harissa Grilled Chicken Sandwich was a standout for me—I ordered it multiple times! The spicy harissa paired with the unique Bajra Rye Sourdough bread created a delightful mix of flavors and textures. In fact, I loved the bread so much that I requested it for the sandwich instead of the ciabatta rolls, and the servers happily obliged every time.

I also gave their Grilled Vegetables with Feta & Spinach Pesto Sandwich a try, which was another winner in my book. Pair it with Raspberry & Ginger Soda for a refreshing burst of flavors that perfectly balances the richness of the sandwich.

Late-Night Dessert Adventures
Although I didn’t manage to visit for dinner, I did make it for late-night desserts with a friend. The Biscoff Cheesecake and Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake we ordered were absolute perfection.

Le Plaisir never disappoints when it comes to sweet indulgences, and this visit was no exception!

A Café That Draws You In
Le Plaisir’s charm isn’t just in its food; it’s the whole experience. I may be lucky that it’s so close to my parents’ place, but I know plenty of friends who travel from far-off areas in Pune, like Koregaon Park, Magarpatta City, and Baner, just to grab a bite here.

I can’t wait to go back the next time I’m in Pune. It’s definitely a one-of-a-kind spot in the city, and it holds a special place in my heart! Until then, I’ll hold onto the memories of countless delicious meals, cozy breakfasts, and sweet late-night treats at my favorite café on Prabhat Road.
